Calling all Non-Profits! Good news! Kitsap Regional Library is bringing you twice as many Foundation Center Workshops in 2014, on topics vital to nonprofits seeking funding.
Mark your calendars now for Tuesday, March 18th from 11:30am-1:30pm at the Sylvan Way branch for the Foundation Center’s #1 most popular workshop of all, “Proposal Writing Basics”, followed by a “grant doctor” session with a couple of community experts who can give you tips and feedback on your very own current grant-writing project.
Proposal Writing Basics: This Foundation Center workshop provides instruction on the key components of a proposal to a foundation or corporation and answers questions people often have about the process of applying for a grant. After the workshop, a “grant doctor” Q & A time allows you feedback on your proposal, whether just started, rejected, or ready to submit. Feel free to bring a bag lunch and your own proposal in progress.
Tuesday March 18, 2014, 11:30am-1:30pm
NOTE: pre-registration is required, call 360-405-9100 to register.
While experienced grant writers can always benefit from Foundation Center tips, this workshop is specially designed for those with 2 or fewer years of grant writing experience and those wanting to review best practices and basics.
Also new for 2014 – a new name and updated KRL Funding Information portal. The Foundation Center of New York’s “Cooperating Collections” like us are now known as simply partners in the “Funding Information Network”. Research shows that the word “foundation” can be confusing, the word “collections” is now associated largely with print, that everyone understands “funding”, and that “information network” better conveys what we’re all about: a vast network of expert support, from global to local.
And I hope to see you at the workshop in March!
