On October 1st Washington’s health insurance exchange will become active for the first time and Washington residents will have a new way to find, compare and enroll in health insurance. It’s called Washington Healthplanfinder.
You may have questions about what the new health coverage options will mean for you, your family or your small business. How does it work? What types of health coverage will be offered? How do I access financial help? What do I need to know about the enrollment process?
Good news! Washington Healthplanfinder Customer Support Center is now open and ready to answer any questions you may have.
Trained representatives are now available weekdays from 7:30 a.m. to 8:00 p.m. via phone and email. Help will be available in up to 175 languages. Reach them at:
Stay tuned for more health coverage information at your home library branch! We’ve been working with Kitsap Public Health District (KPHD), the “Navigator” organization for our area, to make sure you have the information you need to understand the health insurance provision of the law and if necessary, to find, compare, and enroll in a qualified health insurance plan.
KPHD will be providing each branch with printed information explaining the requirements and process for purchasing insurance, as well as contact information for the in-person assistance provided by KPHD. We’re also hoping to host KPHD-led informational sessions at each branch. We expect printed information and class dates to be available by October 1st.
Have a question outside of Customer Support Center hours? Contact your library! We are here to find the information you need, when you need it.
