Notable Books: Fiction, Nonfiction, and Poetry

Just in case you needed more books to read, the Notable Books Council (full disclosure, I was chosen to be a part of this committee and so am inclined to think that all of these books are fabulous)  have selected the winning titles for the 2014 Notable Books List — an annual literary award that  makes available to the nation’s readers a list of very good, very readable, and at times very important fiction, nonfiction, and poetry books for the adult reader.  I can’t tell you my favorites, that’s like picking a favorite child, dangerous territory,  all of them are special in their own unique way. Click on the book covers to get to the full list and links to the library catalog.  The two poetry books Hum by Jaamal May and The Ogre’s Wife by Ron Koertge, are only available through interlibrary loan, you can ask for them here via KRL’s online request form.notables image
