Reading ebooks from just got easier with the all-new OverDrive Media Console (OMC) app v3.0! Check out a preview here (note: the preview’s title says ‘Coming Soon’, but the app is LIVE today.)
OMC v3.0 requires the following:
iOS devices (iPhone, iPad, iPod touch) need iOS 6 (or newer).
Android devices (Kindle Fire, smart phone, NOOK tablet) need Android OS v4.0 (or newer).
Unfortunately, not all iOS and Android devices have the capacity to update to the required OS.
The following devices will update and thus can use OMC v3.0:
iPad 2, 3, mini
iPhone 3GS, 4, 5

What’s new in OMC v3.0?
This redesign focuses on making the user experience more intuitive. Features include:
One-stop reorganized menu. App functions are just a swipe and tap away, including your libraries list & bookshelf, and app settings, history & sync functions.
History. This feature is for all you avid readers! It allows you to keep track of the titles you’ve read, whether you returned them early or they were automatically deleted upon expiration. Options range from the last 10 titles to the last 100.
Sync across devices. Named OverDrive One, this feature allows you to sync titles, bookmarks, and furthest point read between devices using OMC v3.0. So you can stop reading on your Android phone, pick up your iPad to continue, and you’re back in the same place!
Variable speed playback (iOS only). This is audiobook users’ most requested feature.
Tutorial screens. The first time you open the app, tutorial screens will walk you through the new interface, showing up automatically when you go to your bookshelf or open an eBook. Each tutorial screen shows up once, but is available again using the option in Settings to show tutorials next time the app is started.
In-app help. From the Home menu you will find detailed solutions to common questions and issues within OMC.
